About
the Artist
Angie Parkinson
Angie is a Switzerland-based artist whose work celebrates colour, movement, and emotional expression. Now in her 60s and happily married, she brings a lifetime of creativity, curiosity, and lived experience into her art.
Her artistic journey began many years ago as a teacher of silk painting and batik in holiday clubs, where she inspired others to explore vibrant colours and playful techniques. After a long creative pause, Angie returned to painting during the Covid period—this time with acrylics—and rediscovered her passion with renewed freedom and boldness.
Experimentation plays a central role in her process. From acrylic pouring and balloon smashes to layered textures and fluid motion, Angie allowed herself to explore without rules. Over time, this playful exploration evolved into a more expressive and intuitive artistic language.
Alcohol ink often forms the foundation of her colourful canvases, providing depth, flow, and unexpected interactions that guide the final composition. Her paintings are characterised by vivid palettes, dynamic movement, and a sense of joyful energy, inviting viewers to connect emotionally and experience colour as a living force.
Beyond the studio, Angie and her husband share a love for exploring the world. They follow the sunshine wherever they can, drawing inspiration from different cultures, landscapes, and light. Cooking together is their cherished quality time—a creative ritual that mirrors Angie’s artistic approach: intuitive, joyful, and full of flavour.
Angie’s work reflects her love of vibrant colours, her expressive freedom, and her belief that creativity knows no age—only endless possibilities.
